Literature Text

walk the halls
and claw the walls
screaming, no one to hear it
every time
another lie
(can’t let them see you fear it)
my dying spirit

held together by my scars
cold light from the distant stars
don’t know how to carry on
when I’m barely human
blinded eyes that seldom see
shards of whispered glass in me
beneath the mask, why can’t you see
that I’m barely human

barely human

sticks and stones
can break my bones
but words will leave me broken
acid rain
returns again
been years since I’ve stopped hoping
and now I’m choking

held together by my scars
cold light from the distant stars
don’t know how to carry on
when I’m barely human
blinded eyes that seldom see
shards of whispered glass in me
beneath the mask, why can’t you see
that I’m barely human

barely human

sugar, spice
and blades of ice
still carving words on my skin
iron shield
a battlefield
and pasting on a feral grin
won’t let you in

I’m held together by my scars
cold light from the distant stars
don’t know how to carry on
when I’m barely human
blinded eyes that seldom see
shards of whispered glass in me
beneath the mask, why can’t you see
that I’m barely human

barely human

it's been a while, guys. these are some lyrics that i wrote about a week ago. yes they're original, yes they're dripping with angst, yes, i do have a tune in mind, no, i haven't sung it yet. i might, though. eventually. maybe?
